Dr. Daniel H. Williams (January 18, 1856-August 4, 1931)was the 1st Successful Open Heart Surgeon. Dr. Daniel Williams's patient lived 50+ years after receiving the first successful open heart surgery. In 1891, Dr. Williams established Provident Hospital and Training Association in Chicage, the first Black owned, interracial hospital in America.
