Jackson is a scientist, businessman, humanitarian, co-founder of the Black Inventions Museum, Inc., and inventor of other innovations. He continues to work on inventions to enhance the lives of billions of people worldwide.

Joseph Jackson is the fourth of eight children, born to Ernest and Octavia Jackson in Harvey, Louisiana (Jefferson Parish). At 17, Josephy worked as an oil field tool maintenance helper; at 18 he was accepted into the US Army, and went to a TV repair school at night. He later owned a radio and TV repair shop while developing his inventions.
